Soap - Faith to faith

Today was a pretty good day - I had planned to clean my room and guitar room because they're getting a bit out of hand (car is still clean, praise God) and I could do with some tidying up...but unfortunately I didn't...hopefully tomorrow I can catch up on my tasks. Had praise practice today and it was quite good, which wasn't expected because I am totally not a bass player-but definitely by His grace.

Also, Jonathan took me to eat out and we had a good talk about...life.

Anyhow, I have finished the book of Acts finally and I'm moving into Romans. I suppose my Soap/LJs aren't exactly following everyone else's in Pathway but I enjoy going forward from where I am-I have no idea why I'm out smack in the middle of the NT, but who I am to question anything!

S: For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is writtten, "But the righteous man shall live by faith."
Romans 1:17

O: Letter to the Romans. I'm trying to figure out this verse but I have no other means of understanding it than by breaking it down. What does "faith to faith," mean? "For in it" being the gospel/the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes - God's righteousness is revealed in the gospel...from the beginning of faith until the very end of life, with faith still intact (rather, more and more grown and mature) from perseverance. Through the Gospel, God's righteousness (in the form of a gift) is revealed through Christ-a righteousness only from God inherited by a man who lives by faith in Christ. God's grace is a gift-but also a righteousness above ours.

A: True faith perseveres. Faith to faith. If I am to see God's righteousness clearly, I must live by faith to faith. From the beginning to the end.

P: Lord, thank you so much for this Word. Once again reminding me that it was Your will for me to come to know and love You. By Your Son's humility and sacrifice, Your righteousness is revealed-Teach me to live by faith and faith alone. For You are the great Rock, never-changing and never shaken foundation I place my hope and trust upon. Thank You and all glory and praise to You, O' King. In Christ, Amen.

Soli Deo Gloria
