Soap - God is Faithful

S: For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, saying, 'Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.' Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.

Acts 27:23-25

O: Paul being sent his way to Rome by ship, faced a large storm. The crew did not heed his words of warning about the trip being perilous, and set sail for Phoenix. As the storm grew more violent and as food supplies dwindled to nothing, the crew despaired and lost hope. But Paul did not. Paul had experience with God and knew that He was faithful. Despite the seriousness of the situation at the time, Paul yet again demonstrates an unwavering faith and obedience to God. And true to His Word, as always, everyone (including the prisoners on board) was safe by the time they had reached the island of Malta. God is faithful and He never forsakes His promises.

A: Right now is a tumultuous time for me. It is a wonderful time to place all my trust in Him-from paying for college to actual college acceptances all the way to prayer team and praise team, I feel pressed from all sides. However, as I should always acknowledge that I have not the strength nor power to carry out the tasks before me, I must pray about it in faith. God will not fail me, despite the bleakness of the situations in my life. If I could quote Pastor Jason-"Do not show how big the mountain is to God, but rather show the mountain how big our God is."

P: Lord, You are the master of this universe. All things that feel so heavy upon my shoulders are nothing but specks of dust to you-I pray that you would take my burdens and bring peace into my heart. Assure the faith with hope and bring forth understanding that You are always in control. I cannot make $45,000 a year, nor can I get into a prestigious music school by my own strength-but Lord, You can do all of that and infinitely more! I pray that you would take care of my needs and bring me to where I must be. Help my unbelief, O, God. In Christ, amen.

Soli Deo Gloria
