Romans 15:5-6
O: To be of the same mind means to share the same goals and core belief. With one singular vision, church is to be unified. I know that the church (the entire body) isn't connected in prayer or biblical foundation and this verse explicitly states that we should be.
Coming from different backgrounds and denominations, how can we possibly hope to be fully unified in what we believe and do for God? It is impossible without God-as the verse says, may God grant us to be of the same mind...
I've known conflict with several people amongst the church about certain issues-The best way to approach such issues would be "What does the Bible say?" rather than "What would Jesus do?" as I believe several people do a severely misconstrued impression of what Jesus would actually do.
To make a connection to loving God with our minds-I made references to stretching our mental capacity in reading the Word deeply...I'm sure God wants us to all be in the same mindset- as a Scripturally based church!
A: To be of one mind-we must derive all truths from the one truth that God gave us-which is His Word. If everyone was to focus upon the Word, I'm sure that all church politics and petty issues would fall away in a heartbeat and the glory of God would be the only concern of the body. I will do my best to be an advocate of God's Word as I know it to be what it is-to come in an accord with Christians is for Christians to understand and accept God's Word as the absolute and ultimate authority of our lives-correcting and encouraging one another with it, living in unity.
P: Father, unify Your church under the Word-as the supreme authority of our lives, teach us to both revere and do all we can to understand it so that we may all continue to strive for a unified goal to do Your will. Thank You for this Word, in Christ, amen.
Soli Deo Gloria
